The Labour Court recommended that St Patrick's University Hospital and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union honour agreements on clinical-equipment cleaning. The recommendation was dated 6 October 2015. The dispute also concerned cleaning smoking shelters and signing off cleaning schedules. The Court said the union should give effect to management’s choice of staff for shelter cleaning, subject to a joint risk assessment, and did not recommend conceding the union’s annual-leave claim. It found the schedule sign-off requirement reasonable and proportionate and did not recommend conceding the union’s claim on that issue.
