The Labour Court recommended applying a revised annual-leave circular at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, after a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was signed on 29 September 2015. The union argued the Department of Education and Skills circular did not apply to the Academy, or had been applied incorrectly. The Academy said it had to follow the circular and had used its established practice to allocate annual leave. The Court said Academy staff were aligned with corresponding education-sector grades for pay and some conditions. It also recommended negotiations on time off in lieu and flexitime, while recommending no change to established annual-leave allocation times.
