The Labour Court recommended reinstating Brinks Irleland Ltd’s last redundancy offer, withdrawn on 7 July 2015, in its dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was signed on 11 September 2015. The Court also recommended written risk assessments for proposed work changes, with the union to respond within 14 days and both sides to reconcile their assessments within a further seven days. It recommended that the union accept the employer’s revised offer to buy out non-standard terms at twice each affected worker’s annual loss. The Court recommended deferring the pay increase due in January 2016 for 12 months and reviewing it then, and removing the Christmas bonus from the employer’s proposals at that time. The employer had also sought a 3% pay reduction.
