The Labour Court recommended a 25% shift rate for three-cycle working at Moorepark Technology Limited (MTL), rising to 33% if four-cycle working is introduced. It also recommended a pilot of the proposed time and attendance system and overtime rates for hours worked outside rostered shifts. The recommendation was signed on 7 September 2015. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought higher shift premiums, overtime beyond rostered hours and a delay to the system’s rollout. MTL said restructuring was needed for planned round-the-clock operations and that shareholders had agreed to a €10 million investment programme for 2015–2018.
