The Labour Court recommended a restructuring settlement for Kerry Foods Charleville and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union after workers rejected earlier proposals. The recommendation was signed on 29 July 2015. The terms included 20 voluntary redundancies and a shift pattern that would start with three-cycle shifts during training before moving to two-cycle 12-hour shifts, subject to business requirements. Shift premiums would remain unchanged, with three breaks during each 12-hour shift. The Court recommended management offer the terms and the union accept them, including a €1,000 lead-in payment at Christmas 2015 for staff who remained and had to work under the agreement.
