The Labour Court recommended an enhanced redundancy payment of three weeks’ pay per year of service, on top of statutory redundancy entitlements, for workers made redundant by St John Bosco Youth Centre. Its recommendation was dated 11 June 2015. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union had sought 3.5 weeks’ pay per year, saying this matched terms in comparable employment. The Court recommended that the parties jointly seek funding from CDETB, the Centre’s sole funder, because the Centre could not pay the ex-gratia amount itself.
