The Labour Court recommended €2,000 compensation for a worker it found had been unfairly dismissed by Teach Na Ndaoine Family Resource Centre. The worker, represented by Mandate, said she was dismissed without explanation and that fair procedures were not followed. Management said she was dismissed for failing to carry out a legitimate instruction, while accepting that not all procedures were followed to the letter. The Court found the dismissal contrary to the Code of Practice on Grievance and Disciplinary Procedure. The recommendation includes 10 days of outstanding annual leave and says payment should be made within six weeks as full and final settlement. It was signed on 5 June 2015.
