The Labour Court did not recommend that the Office of Public Works concede a worker’s claim to move from Storekeeper-Clerk in Charge to Foreman Grade 3. It signed its recommendation on 22 May 2015. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the worker had taken on higher-grade duties since 2005. The Office of Public Works argued that the duties were within the worker’s current grade and that additional work was generally addressed through extra hours or overtime. The Court found similar responsibilities were carried out by others at the same grade and considered the duties within the worker’s current grading.
Labour Court sees no basis to recommend conceding OPW worker’s regrading claim
