The Labour Court recommended that Mount Tabor Care Centre & Nursing Home recognise Unite for collective bargaining and industrial relations purposes for its members. The recommendation was signed on 1 May 2015. The dispute followed the union’s claim that Mount Tabor would not recognise it for collective negotiations on pay and conditions. Unite said 20 health care assistants had joined after workers were dissatisfied with engagement on their terms and conditions. Mount Tabor did not attend the hearing. The Court also recommended that the parties meet to conclude an agreement on procedural and other matters for implementing the recommendation.
