The Labour Court recommended a package on work-practice changes for Supplies Officers at the Irish Blood Transfusion Service, following a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was dated 28 April 2015. The Court accepted ending the 20.84% permanent evenings and nights allowance as staff move to rotating shifts, with a compensation formula for the pensionable allowance. For night staff, it recommended continuing the on-call allowance pro rata until the new roster and breaks are in place and the on-call requirement ends. It also recommended compensation if Saturday work caused lost earnings. The Court rejected the day staff claim for an on-call allowance and said the recommendations formed a composite package in full and final settlement.
