The Labour Court recommended that a dispute over weekly hours, pay scales, temporary contracts and union representation at Dunnes Stores be resolved on the basis of its earlier Recommendation LCR20874. The recommendation was signed on 27 April 2015.
The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union brought the claim on behalf of members across Dunnes Stores outlets nationwide. Dunnes Stores did not attend or send a representative to the hearing.
The Court said Dunnes Stores had declined to take part in its investigation and reaffirmed that the parties should engage under their 1996 collective agreement. It recommended that they meet within four weeks, with Labour Relations Commission assistance if needed, and said they could jointly refer unresolved issues back for a definitive recommendation.
