The Labour Court recommended that GSK Dungarvan recognise Unite the Union for collective bargaining and industrial relations purposes for its members in the Over-the-Counter Laboratory and Stores areas. The recommendation was signed on 27 March 2015. Unite sought recognition for members in those areas, while GSK said it intended to maintain a direct working relationship with the employees. The union said it represented 26 of the 46 Over-the-Counter Laboratory staff. GSK said the relevant laboratory staff were salaried professionals and that the site already had broad union representation. The Court also recommended that the parties meet promptly to agree a framework for handling industrial relations matters.
