The Labour Court recommended that An Post’s proposal to introduce a Human Resources Service Unit in the GPO be accepted, on the basis of the company’s assurance that existing flexi-time arrangements would not change. The recommendation was signed on 27 March 2015. The union, CPSU, opposed the restructuring, raising concerns about posts, union representation and a new overseer grade. An Post said centralising functions was needed to reduce costs and that it could not organise staffing by union membership. The Court also recommended accepting the company’s overseer-post proposal, subject to an evaluation within four months.
