Labour Court recommends €5,000 for worker dismissed by The Buttery Bistro

The Labour Court found the dismissal of a worker by The Buttery Bistro (Limerick) Limited T/A The Buttery unfair and recommended €5,000 compensation. The recommendation was signed on 25 March 2015. The worker said she received no warnings, was not offered representation when the dismissal decision was made, and the employer refused to sign her Social Welfare papers. The employer did not attend the hearing. The Court heard the worker's uncontested evidence and found that she had no opportunity to address performance concerns, received no warnings and was not offered representation. It recommended payment within six weeks as full and final settlement of the claim.
