The Labour Court did not recommend conceding Unite the Union’s claim that all earnings for Flogas Ireland Limited drivers should count towards pension purposes. The recommendation, signed on 24 March 2015, concerned the Defined Contribution scheme, where basic pay plus 10% of additional earnings counted towards pensions. Flogas Ireland Limited said it could not sustain the added cost while funding the deficit in its former Defined Benefit scheme. The Court’s recommendation followed a dispute over the pension terms for the company’s drivers.
