The Labour Court recommended that HCL Technologies Ltd recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for collective bargaining and industrial relations purposes. The recommendation, signed on 24 March 2015, also called for an early meeting to agree an industrial relations framework and for the company to discuss the union’s submissions. The dispute concerned union recognition, pay and conditions. The union said its members received lower basic pay and Sunday premiums than comparable employees and sought increases. The employer did not attend the hearing.
