The Labour Court recommended that Unite Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept a 12-month pilot of GPS devices in Upc Ireland's vehicle fleet. It said management could use the system for real-time deployment information and resource allocation, while workers were entitled to privacy and autonomy. Upc Ireland committed to limiting use to fleet management and not tracking personal use beyond distances travelled and vehicle protection. The Court recommended a four-person committee, with two representatives from each side, to monitor the system during the trial. The recommendation was signed on 11 March 2015.
