The Labour Court recommended that Valeo Foods, Merrywell DC offer its workers a 2% basic-pay increase from 1 July 2014 for 18 months. The recommendation, signed on 30 January 2015, amended Labour Relations Commission proposals dated 3 October 2014. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought a 2% increase from 1 April 2014, saying members had not received a pay rise since 2008. The company said its offer depended on cost-offsetting measures and agreement on other issues, and that offer had been rejected. The Court recommended changing the proposals to provide the increase from July.
