The Labour Court recommended that Tesco Ireland Ltd and Mandate Services Industrial Professional Technical Union put agreed terms for a standard sick-pay scheme in writing and resolve outstanding administrative issues. The scheme was intended to replace 27 existing schemes. The Court recommended appointing an expert facilitator to help the parties agree how staff would move to the new scheme within eight weeks. If they could not agree, the Court would issue a definitive recommendation after receiving the facilitator’s confidential report. The recommendation was dated 28 January 2015.
