The Labour Court recommended on 6 January 2015 that Pat the Baker pay a worker €12,000 compensation for unfair dismissal, plus €200 in unpaid subsistence allowance and commission. The worker was dismissed by phone after a minor error with one bread delivery. The Court noted that he had been promised a permanent contract that never materialised, and that an employment-extension letter arrived by mistake two months after his dismissal. Pat the Baker did not attend the hearing. The Court recommended payment of €12,200 within six weeks.
