The Labour Court recommended that HSE West bring its Mid-West sick-leave recording practice into line with general HSE practice. The parties should establish what that practice is and, if they cannot agree, appoint an independent person to determine it. The dispute with INMO concerned whether rostered days off immediately after a period of sick leave were being counted as sick-leave days. INMO said those days should not count when a worker was fit to resume duties; HSE West said its approach followed national HSE circulars and general HSE practice. The recommendation was signed on 21 November 2014.
