Labour Court recommends Waterford council concede worker’s long-term acting-post claim

The Labour Court recommended that Waterford City & County Council concede a worker’s claim for regularisation of a long-term acting post. The recommendation was signed on 28 October 2014 and was limited to the unique circumstances of the case. The union said the worker had held the Grade VI position for more than 11 years and sought permanent appointment. The Court cited his appointment after open competition, a notice that did not specify an acting role, and the absence of a formal temporary renewal from 2010.
