The Labour Court rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's claim to move theatre attendants at Cork University Hospital from Band 4 to Band 3. The recommendation was dated 16 October 2014. The union argued that theatre attendants' operating-room duties differed from household staff duties and that comparable attendants were paid at Band 3. HSE South said the attendants were household staff graded at Band 4 under a 2003 national agreement, and that a 2013 review found the grade appropriate. The Court found there was insufficient evidence to justify moving the attendants to Band 3.
