The Labour Court recommended that Robert Roberts and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept a draft agreement reached at the Labour Relations Commission. The Court signed its recommendation on 15 August 2014 after a dispute over the union’s claim for a 2% pay increase for 12 months from April 2014. The draft agreement provided for a 2% lump sum in the current financial year and an enhanced health and safety programme. The Court also recommended a review between February and April 2015 to assess whether the 2% adjustment could be consolidated into the basic hourly rate, taking account of the company’s trading and financial results.
