The Labour Court recommended that Stobart (Ireland) Driver Services Ltd and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union immediately negotiate a pay increase and shift allowance for HGV drivers at the company’s Ballymun distribution centre. The recommendation was signed on 12 August 2014. The union sought higher pay for two groups of drivers and an allowance for those working rotating shifts. If negotiations were not concluded by 7 November 2014, the dispute could be referred back to the Court for a definitive recommendation. The employer did not attend the hearing.
