The Labour Court recommended that proposals from Suir Pharma be accepted, with changes, in its dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Unite the Union. The recommendation was signed on 22 May 2014. The proposals included suspending bonuses and reducing annual leave by one paid day. The Court recommended treating the changes as a temporary derogation from existing agreements, ending on 31 December 2015, with affected conditions restored from 1 January 2016. The extra weekly hour was to be unpaid, with no adjustment to hourly pay. The company was also to pursue further non-payroll cost reductions and make no further claims to cut terms during the derogation.
