The Labour Court recommended that Focus Ireland increase a worker’s severance terms to two weeks’ pay per year of service, in addition to statutory entitlement. The recommendation was signed on 28 April 2014. The worker sought terms matching colleagues at another location after receiving statutory entitlements only. Focus Ireland said its package was the national norm and it could not fund enhanced terms. The Court found merit in the union’s claim for an increase.
