Labour Court recommends enhanced redundancy payment for Ruth O’ Donnell

The Labour Court recommended that Ruth O’ Donnell receive an ex-gratia payment of three weeks’ pay per year of service, in addition to statutory redundancy entitlements. The recommendation was signed on 31 March 2014. O’ Donnell had sought an enhanced payment of 3.35 weeks’ pay per year of service from Southill Community Services Board Ltd (in Liquidation). The liquidator did not attend the hearing. The Court said the organisation could not fund the payment from its own resources and recommended that the parties jointly seek funding from relevant agencies.
