The Labour Court recommended that Aramark Ireland Trading As Aramark Campbell Catering pay four former employees at the Abbott Ireland site in Sligo an extra severance payment of two weeks’ pay per year of service, in addition to statutory redundancy entitlements. The recommendation was signed on 11 March 2014.
The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought enhanced payments for members made redundant between December 2012 and August 2013, saying such payments were an industry norm and Abbott Ireland’s direct employees had received an additional payment. Aramark said its employees were not comparable and that it could not afford enhanced payments.
