Labour Court rejects worker’s claim over Tesco redundancy agreement

The Labour Court recommended against conceding a worker’s claim that Tesco Ireland Ltd should agree not to rely on a waiver clause in a redundancy agreement. The recommendation was signed on 6 March 2014. The Court said the agreement referred to the Night Working Agreement made between Tesco and Mandate, neither of which was before it, so it could not interpret or otherwise deal with the agreement. Tesco Ireland Ltd was not represented at the hearing. The worker agreed to be bound by the recommendation.
