The Labour Court upheld the Work Practice Change Agreement and recommended that its monitoring group examine a dispute over consolidating An Post’s 12.5% change allowance into basic pay. The recommendation was signed on 14 February 2014. CWU said some employees who had cooperated with workplace changes did not receive the allowance, creating different pay rates for the same work and disharmony. An Post said consolidation would conflict with the agreement and it could not sustain the cost amid financial difficulties. The Court recommended that the monitoring group discuss the issues with both sides. Outstanding matters could be referred back to the Court with a report on progress.
