The Labour Court recommended enhanced redundancy terms for about 12 workers affected by the closure of Diageo sites in Kilkenny and Waterford. Dalkia Limited, represented by the Irish Business and Employers' Confederation, and the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union were involved in the dispute. The Court recommended two weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory redundancy for the 12 workers made redundant on 31 December 2013. It also recommended recognising earlier Diageo service for two workers; for another worker, redundancy entitlements should be calculated from 8 January 2010. The recommendation was dated 3 February 2014.
