Labour Court rejects Dr Jim Rogers’s claim for full-time DCU contract

The Labour Court did not recommend concession of Dr Jim Rogers’s claim for a full-time contract of indefinite duration at Dublin City University. The Court found the university had treated him no differently from other staff in similar positions. Its recommendation was signed on 31 October 2013. Rogers argued that his contract should reflect his average teaching and tutoring hours over the four academic years before it became one of indefinite duration. The university said the contract should be based on the relevant terms when his entitlement crystallised and that he had not been disadvantaged. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union represented him.
