The Labour Court recommended that Park Rite pay a worker €1,200 in full and final settlement of a dispute over his dismissal during probation. Its recommendation was signed on 11 October 2013. The worker said he was unfairly dismissed and that disciplinary meetings took place without representation. Park Rite said he made serious errors and was unsuitable for the role because his performance did not meet the required standard despite management’s efforts to provide support. The Court found the disciplinary procedure did not meet the standards in S.I. 146 of 2000 and that the evidence did not support the dismissal.
