The Labour Court recommended that Iarnrod Eireann fill two Tralee station controller posts at Traffic Co-ordinator grade, with the arrangement kept under review. Its recommendation was signed on 9 August 2013. The Services Industrial Professional & Technical Union sought to retain all three Station Controller posts, saying they offered promotion opportunities for staff based in Tralee, who might otherwise need to move to Cork or Limerick. Iarnrod Eireann said the station’s workload and supervisory responsibilities had declined.
