The Labour Court recommended that North and East Kerry Development pay a worker three weeks’ pay per year of service on top of statutory redundancy entitlements. It also recommended written, timely notice of vacancies arising during the following 12 months. The recommendation was signed on 1 August 2013. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the worker, who had been a receptionist, was moved from a post that survived redundancies and selected for redundancy out of turn. The organisation said funding for her work had ended, no other work was available, and it would notify her of vacancies and interview her if she applied.
