The Labour Court recommended an ex-gratia redundancy payment of three weeks’ pay per year of service for nine employees made redundant by Amber Kilkenny Women’s Refuge Limited trading as Amber Kilkenny Women’s Refuge Project. The recommendation, signed on 14 June 2013, followed the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for enhanced terms. The organisation said it had no funds to make the payment. The Court recommended that the parties work together to seek the necessary money from funding agencies.
