The Labour Court recommended that Aer Lingus provide 17 cabin crew members with the training needed to confirm them as Senior Cabin Crew, and treat their notional service date as 1 July 2012 for eligibility for future promotions. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union brought the claim after irregularities in the promotion competition. Aer Lingus had reopened the panel and offered Senior Cabin Crew roles to all 17, who accepted and were awaiting training. The Court noted that parts of the selection process had caused confusion and difficulties. Its recommendation was signed on 27 May 2013.
