The Labour Court recommended that Aer Lingus provide a €110 million contribution to a new pension arrangement in a dispute with ICTU - Group of Unions. The recommendation was signed on 24 May 2013 and concerned future arrangements for active members represented by the union group.
The Court also recommended that full-time employees receive €5,850 in stabilisation payments through 2016, in instalments of €250, €2,000, €1,800 and €1,800. It recommended that 2013 annual and long-service increments be paid, while annual increments for 2014, 2015 and 2016 would not be paid.
The recommendations included no inflationary salary increases through 2016, a 10% company contribution to the scheme and employee contributions at least equal to their then-current rate. The Court recommended an increment from 1 April 2017 and an underpin for employees who became entitled to a pension by 30 June 2018.
