The Labour Court recommended that workers at Diageo PLC's Great Northern Brewery in Dundalk accept the redundancy terms agreed by workers at the company's Kilkenny brewery. The recommendation was signed on 14 May 2013. The Joint Union Group, Unite-ACTS Group and Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union sought enhanced terms, including options from a 2009 agreement. Diageo said it could not afford the additional terms. The Court found the Kilkenny package substantial and reasonable.
