The Labour Court recommended that conciliation proposals for an 8% premium on Kerry Airport’s afternoon and evening rota be accepted. The premium was to take effect retrospectively from 13 August 2012. The recommendation was signed on 11 April 2013. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought the return of a 16% premium, saying workers could expect it when similar shifts resumed. Kerry Airport said the premium would threaten cost containment while it faced financial pressure. The Court found the conciliation proposals fair and reasonable in the circumstances.
