Labour Court says Kellor Services worker was badly treated after maternity leave

The Labour Court said Sigita Dziugiene’s treatment after returning from maternity leave fell far short of the standard of reasonableness an employee could expect. Its recommendation, dated 27 March 2013, followed an uncontested submission after Kellor Services Ireland Limited did not attend the hearing. Dziugiene sought no compensation or other redress. Dziugiene said she returned to work in December 2010 and was assigned to the Service Department without training, after being told she would later move to credit control. She said she was not moved or given suitable alternative work, and that her English was criticised.
