The Labour Court recommended that Killarney Golf Club and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union return to conciliation over proposed cost cuts, pay reductions and redundancies. The recommendation was signed on 19 March 2013. The Court said the parties’ positions were polarised and further engagement was needed, including discussion of a Mazars financial assessment. It said payroll costs would need to be rebalanced and significant redundancies considered, while describing the union’s position on ex-gratia redundancy payments as not unreasonable. The Court recommended an early resumed conciliation conference and said it could resume the hearing if no agreement was reached.
