Labour Court recommends review of Kilkenny Local Authority worker’s grade

The Labour Court recommended that Kilkenny Local Authority assess an anonymised worker’s duties to determine the appropriate grade and pay rate. The worker said he was wrongly graded as a foreman compared with employees in other local authorities; the authority said he was correctly graded and paid at the top of the foreman scale. The assessment should be completed within four weeks. If it finds that he was wrongly graded, any back pay should run from 28 June 2011. The recommendation was signed on 11 March 2013.
