Labour Court recommends Aer Lingus not concede Flight Kitchen Supervisor pay claim

The Labour Court recommended that Aer Lingus PLC not concede Margaret Donohue's claim to be offered the Flight Kitchen Supervisor role under an old grading structure. The recommendation was signed on 21 January 2013. Donohue said she had won a competition for the post but would have lost €400 to €500 a fortnight if she accepted it. Aer Lingus said a new grading structure had been agreed with the union in 2009 and introduced across the business. The Court said the lower pay for the promotional post seemed anomalous but was consistent with the registered employment agreement, and it could not recommend a solution that conflicted with the agreement.
