The Labour Court did not recommend in favour of the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for parity in sick pay and death-in-service benefits between Iss Facility Services security officers in the West of Ireland and Dublin. The recommendation was signed on 19 November 2012. Iss Facility Services said differing terms had been retained following takeovers. The Court noted that the annual leave issue had been resolved, with the company committing to pay the workers involved 12 hours’ pay. It also noted the company’s undertaking to review the cost of extending the more beneficial death-in-service scheme to officers up to age 65.
