The Labour Court recommended that the dispute over four Advanced Nurse Practitioner posts at Cork University Hospital remain under review, but said it could not recommend filling the posts while the public-service recruitment moratorium and Public Service Agreement applied. The recommendation was signed on 31 October 2012. The Irish Nurses & Midwives' Organisation sought the immediate implementation of four approved posts in the hospital’s Emergency Department. HSE South, representing Cork University Hospital, said the moratorium and agreement prevented appointments at that time. The Court recommended that matters be kept under review and progressed in line with the developing situation.
