The Labour Court recommended overtime changes at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital while saying porters receiving the waste allowance should retain it for as long as they continued the relevant work. The recommendation was signed on 26 September 2012. The dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union concerned about 79 porters, their rosters and overtime. The Court considered the proposed overtime changes consistent with the Public Service Agreement 2010–2014. It classified the waste payment as an allowance rather than overtime and recommended that current recipients keep it on a personal basis while doing the work.
