The Labour Court recommended that Cliffs of Moher Centre Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union negotiate an interim improvement in pay and conditions, then review the position two years after negotiations conclude. The recommendation was signed on 20 August 2012. The union sought parity with local authority employees in pay, sick leave and premium payments. The company said it was legally separate from Clare County Council and could not sustain the proposed terms without jeopardising 56 jobs. A financial assessment found it could not sustain the proposed rates or conditions in the short to medium term.
