The Labour Court recommended that the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept Dublin City Council management’s offer of compensation for operational staff whose payments were discontinued after refuse collection operations transferred to Greyhound Recycling and Recovery. The recommendation was signed on 31 July 2012. The compensation was set at 1.5 times the annual value of the discontinued payments. The Court also recommended that displaced staff redeployed elsewhere receive priority for vacancies in areas where the payments continued. For administrative staff, it recommended enhanced ex-gratia payments of €3,000 for Revenue staff in Rathmines and €1,200 for the Bin Management Office, in full and final settlement of outstanding claims. It said the allowances would not normally attract compensation and the overtime was not regular and rostered.
